No deposit car hire at Zadar Airport
Part of the car supply at Zadar carries no deposit, and the deposit is shown on each car before you pay. The card requirement is stated during booking and in the voucher.

What does a no-deposit booking mean?
A no-deposit offer is a car whose listing shows no deposit. The rental price is charged as for any other car, and the price of the car itself is shown separately from the deposit.
For a car with a deposit, the methods of holding it and the refund timelines are stated during booking and in the rental voucher. Most car rental companies reserve an amount on the card for the deposit, and that amount is not released until the car is returned.
The deposit is a field on each car in the booking feed, alongside the transmission and seats.
How do I find a suitable car without a deposit?
Search your travel dates and read the deposit shown on each car.
Seats, transmission and mileage limit are shown on the same listing as the deposit. For an automatic hire car, set the transmission filter; the deposit is shown separately on each car the search returns.
Which card do I need at pickup?
The card requirement is shown on each car and stated during booking and in the voucher.
Renting a car may require a physical embossed credit card in the main driver’s name. Where a debit card is accepted, it must also be physical, personalised and embossed, and issued in the main driver’s name. These requirements are set out in the rental conditions for Croatia.
On Croatian listings, when a debit card is used for the deposit, the rental company either places a hold on the deposit amount or asks for it to be transferred to a specified account. The required card must be with the main driver at pickup.

When is a deposit returned?
Some companies retain the deposit for 30 to 45 days after the vehicle is returned. The refund timeline for a booking is stated during booking and in the voucher.
If the rental company receives a fine, or an invoice for an unpaid toll, from the time you had the car, the amount is charged to the deposit. For fines, the administrative expenses are charged as well.
Under EU rules, a trader who intends to block an amount on your credit card must tell you, and you must approve the block and its exact amount.
Does no deposit mean no excess?
Standard insurance does not cover damage to wheels, undercarriage, windscreen and interior, whether or not the car carries a deposit.
After an insured event you must notify the rental agent immediately and get a police report, except as otherwise agreed with the agent. Failing to do so cancels the insurance issued for the car and makes you fully responsible. The insurance is invalid for deliberate damage caused by intentional vandalism or neglect. Rental cars may travel only on paved public roads, and that rule applies on all of the drives out of Zadar Airport.
Which car fits my trip?
Seats, transmission, deposit and mileage limit are shown on each car before you pay. For longer journeys, such as the run north to Plitvice Lakes (145 km and 2 h 15 from Zadar Airport), the listing shows whether the car has a daily or total mileage limit.
Minimum age and driving experience are listed on each car and can vary even between similar models.
